Your account and Pro

The free plan is a real way to learn to read music, and it stays free for good. Pro opens everything else. This chapter covers both, and how to look after your account and your data.

What’s free

• Lessons: all of Foundation and Initial, then the first unit of Grade 1.
• Grades: the first 5 levels of every grade from Initial to Grade 5.
• The library: 54 study pieces by Schäfer and Schytte.
• Notes and Scales: every drill, as often as you like.
• Chords: the first 5 units of levels, and major, minor, diminished, augmented and suspended chords in free play.
• Exercises: 10 new exercises a day with 3 to play, 5 rated exercises a day, and up to 10 saved.
• Every way of practising: a keyboard, the microphone or the on-screen piano; Pitch & Rhythm marking; Review mistakes; practising some bars or one hand at a time.
• Everything to collect: your streak, XP, badges, the weekly league and riffs.

What Pro adds

Getting Pro

On a free account, choose Upgrade to Pro on the Me tab or on your Account page. Pro is a monthly or annual subscription.

• On the website, you pay by card.
• In the iPhone or Android app, you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play. If you have bought Pro in the app before, Restore purchases brings it back.

Either way, Pro belongs to your account, so sign in with the same account on every device and it works everywhere.

Pausing Pro

If you pay monthly on the website, you can pause Pro for one, two or three months instead of cancelling. On your Account page on the website, choose Cancel subscription, and the next step offers the pause. You keep the month you’ve paid for, nothing is charged while Pro is paused, and it restarts by itself. To come back early, choose Resume Pro now, which starts a new month that day.

An annual plan, or Pro bought in the app, can’t be paused.

Cancelling and refunds

• Bought on the website: on your Account page, choose Cancel subscription, then Continue to cancel, and confirm.
• Bought in the app: cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Manage in App Store or Manage in Google Play on your Account page takes you there.

You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and your progress and history stay. More in Questions people ask, and for refunds, the refund policy.

Gift codes

A gift code comes as a link. Open it, sign in or create an account, and press Redeem code. Pro starts straight away, with no card and nothing to cancel, and your Account page shows it as a gift.

Give a friend a month

Your Account page has Give a month, get a month, with your own invite link to Copy link or Share. A friend who opens it gets a month of Pro free, with no card needed. Every time a friend subscribes, you get a free month too, with no limit. Months you’ve earned wait in the bank and start by themselves if your own subscription ends.

Your email address

Open Account details on your Account page and press Change beside your email. Type the new address and choose Send confirmation link. Nothing changes until you open that link, within 24 hours, while signed in. After that, sign in with the new address. Your practice, progress and subscription stay exactly as they were.

Your data and privacy

• Download my data, on your Account page, gives you a copy of everything we hold about your account. In the app it points you to the website, where the download works.
• Public profile is a page that shares your progress, badges and stats. New profiles start private, and the switch on your Account page turns it on or off.
• The microphone listens on your device only. Your playing is turned into notes as you play, and the sound is never recorded or uploaded.
• Usage statistics: the apps ask before collecting them, and Usage statistics on your Account page changes your answer.

Deleting your account

On your Account page, under Danger zone, choose Go to account deletion, then Delete my account. Everything is removed 30 days after you confirm, and you can sign in before then to cancel.

A website subscription ends with the current billing period. If you bought Pro in the app, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play as well: a store subscription can only be cancelled there.
